Help Your Child Excel at English

My private tuition helps two types of students: 1. Exam Candidates: Students preparing for competitive school entrance for schools in London and other parts of England. 2. Creative Students: Children who want to build confidence and boldness to enhance their academic and personal success. During your consultation we will spend 30-45 minutes discussing your child and their goals. I'll ask you several questions to gain a deep understanding of your child's situation. With 14 years of experience teaching children, I know what works and what doesn’t. I can quickly identify the gaps that need to be addressed. I won’t hesitate to point these out, so it’s important that you are open to having a ‘critical friend’ in your corner, rooting for your child's success!

We can get started once we have confirmed the day and time of the weekly term-time sessions. In your child's first tutorial, I'll carry out an assessment of their skills and confidence to see what is needed to build their path to success. Please note, I will often take two sessions to carry out a relaxed assessment of your child's specific strengths and gaps. As an experienced former school teacher, my fees reflect the premium value your child will receive—far beyond just an hourly rate.

Questions you might have around private tuition

When can I book?

I am taking bookings for 2025. Please enquire if you are interested and I will contact you as soon as I can.

Can I book a one-off assessment session?

Yes! You can book a one-off 60-minute session either focusing on writing or comprehension. The fee for an assessment  is £145 which includes a post-session 45-minute feedback call.

I recommend booking two sessions if you want a more relaxed feel for your child.

Who is suited to my private tuition?

There are two types of students who are most suited to my private tutoring experience:

  1. Academically bright, focused and ambitious students who are prepping for the 11+ and lack confidence in their abilities. English is often an additional language.
  2.  2. Academically bright, thoughtful students who enjoy writing but don’t neccesarily want to take the 11+ exam. They want to extend and amplify their creative writing skills for academic and personal success.

The students are work with are performing at the expected level in their school English and are often, but not always, seeking to achieve greater depth in their writing. I normally recommend a minimum of 10-months for this type of transformation.

 

2. When can we expect to see progress?

The results from tuition are cumulative, so you can expect to see progress build over a number of lessons.

However, after your child’s first lesson they are bound to feel proud of their writing, radiating a sense of joy and inner confidence!
