Questions you might have around Clare's 11 Plus English tuition

When can I book?

Please enquire for tuition in 2025 and Clare will contact you as soon as possible.

What are the dates for the English Class Pass?

2025 Dates for the 11+ English Class Pass:

YEAR 4: 

11+ Reading Comprehension class date TBC (45 mins)

11+ Creative Writing classes on Thursdays, 4.15pm – 5.15pm (60 mins)

 

YEAR 5:

11+ Reading Comprehension classes on Mondays, 5.25pm – 6.05pm (45 mins)

11+ Creative Writing classes on Wednesdays, 4.15pm – 5.15pm (60 mins)

Up to 6 children per group

Can I book a one-off assessment session?

Yes! You can book a one-off 60-minute session either focusing on writing or comprehension. The fee for an assessment  is £145 which includes a post-session 45-minute feedback call.

I recommend booking two sessions if you want a more relaxed feel for your child.

Who is suited to Clare's private tuition?

  1. Academically bright, focused and ambitious students who are prepping for the 11+ and lack confidence in their abilities. English is often an additional language.
  2. Academically bright, thoughtful and focused students who enjoy writing but don’t neccesarily want to take the 11+ exam. They want to extend and amplify their creative writing skills for academic and personal success. These students are often ‘at’ the expected level in their school English and are seeking to achieve ‘greater depth’ in their writing. I normally recommend a minimum of 10-months for this type of transformation.

 

When can we expect to see progress?

The results from tuition are cumulative, so you can expect to see progress build over a number of lessons.

However, after your child’s first lesson they are bound to feel proud of their writing, radiating a sense of joy and inner confidence!
